Our creations are handcrafted in a human-sized workshop in Aveyron in the South West of France.
At Max Capdebarthes, we attach great importance to detail to guarantee the authenticity of the products we manufacture.
It is a total of thirty steps to achieve the realization of a model.
In our Workshop: Sabrina, Roselyne, Anaïs, Charlotte, Catherine, Valérie and Myriam participate, create and give life to all our pieces: bags, knife cases...

Made in France
We manufacture in France, more precisely in Aveyron department and we benefit from the approval "Made in Aveyron" for all our creations.
We also favor the purchase of our various raw materials from French suppliers.

Design
We design and make our own models.
Each item requires precise research and prototyping work.
At the start an idea, an inspiration, a meeting that leads to reflection and provokes a sketch.
Then comes the question: is it achievable? If so, a prototype is made to interpret the sketch in volume and the model takes shape.
The model is presented to the entire team and, following exchanges and discussions, the project is validated.
LEATHERS
We mainly work with two types of leather: smooth and grained.
• Full-grain cowhide leather for a smooth finish.
• Full-grain bullcalf leather for a grained look.
Our partner is a famous French tannery located in the Basque Country, which works with major leather goods houses.
This tannery has obtained the LWG (Leather Working Group) label, an audit carried out by an independent organization which scrutinized several essential points such as: compliance with standards and regulations, the environmental management system, consumption of energy and water, the use of chemical products, noise pollution, atmospheric emissions, etc.
The fabric
The fabric used for the lining is 100% cotton with anti-fraying finishes. We collaborate with a company specializing in the manufacture of fabrics located in Normandy – France.
Thread
We supply ourselves from our partner located in the Tarn department. We use a thread specific to leather work.
Jewellery
We get our supplies from an establishment dedicated in the supply of jewellery for leather goods.
For ZIPS closures we use the best manufactured in the world, those manufactured by YKK in the North of France.
WORKSHOP VISIT
We organize visits because we are keen to show our know-how and because we are men and women who are passionate about our profession.
